Boots, a two year old Tabby Cat, somehow found himself all alone and stuck under a log. Luckily for Boots, he was discovered by a nice family who freed him and took him home. Upon examination by a veterinarian, it was discovered Boots was dehydrated. He also had a fractured leg and dislocated heel. Boots’ new family wrote to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF) to let us know how gentle and sweet Boots was. Happy to help, ISF gave Boots a Medical Emergency Grant to help pay for his needed leg amputation.
The first couple of days after surgery Boots was very groggy. Slowly, as his leg began to heel and his sutures were removed, he began to feel better. Boots’ new family reports he is now able to run, jump and play on three legs as well as any four legged cat.
