ISF is celebrating Earth Day 2019 by giving our first environmental grant of the year to Keep Mandeville Beautiful for their city wide cleanup, along Lake Pontchartrain, in Louisiana. An anticipated 200+ volunteers of all ages, including school groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, have signed on to participate in this project for their largest cleanup effort of the year! The area surrounding Lake Pontchartrain holds special meaning to ISF's Founder & President, Ian Somerhalder, because it is where he grew up and nurtured his love for the environment. Volunteers will be given cleanup materials and the first 250 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, with the ISF and Keep Mandeville Beautiful logos, before making their way through the city and along the shoreline.

ISF chose to support the initiative to encourage ISF’s newest Program Service “ISF Cleanups” and to inspire Youth to join or start their own cleanup in their community. As Earth Day approaches on April 22, 2019, we encourage our youth, and all people, to get involved in protecting and keeping our environment clean. Information on how to start a cleanup project in your area can be found on our website here.
